Cavitt Industries’ parent company has been involved in ditch maintenance since the late 1950’s. Over time, and in response to an increasingly competitive contract marketplace, a patented ditching attachment for excavators was developed that vastly increased machine productivity. This system soon earned a 90% share of the BC provincial ditching market, and provided the basis for a decision to duplicate this model elsewhere. Cavitt Industries was formed in 2004 to deliver improved unit cost to road departments and drainage agencies worldwide. Cavitt provides tools and training to ditching contractors, and valuable contract specification information to government agencies. A handful of simple and effective management principles allow transportation and drainage authorities to double their annual ditching accomplishment within their current budget.
